Update

Today we worshiped in both Spanish and English so that Alex and the rest of the Hostal personnel could join us. It was amazing! Israel has been leading us all week and it has been wonderful. Since Hershel has been gone, we have just been sharing our experiences and conversations that we've had during the week.

Classes resumed again today and it didn't appear that any riots would take place again. In the library, women are not allowed to show their shoulders for respectful reasons and today I had to dump out half the water in my camel bak because all bags had to be checked before entering and no water was allowed inside.

I, along with a new friend we've made named Esthervin (aka, Barak), shared for an hour with a another guy named Keilis whom Ed and I met on Monday during lunch. Esthervin has been a tremendous blessing because he knows Spanish and English and translated for my team as well as other teams.

At 2:00pm, we joined JC's Bible study and helped the students in beginner/intermediate English read Matthew 28:57-66 and Matthew 28:1-10. We played Rock, Paper, Scissors as our icebreaker before we started class. The students read to us in English and we listened and assisted with pronunciation as well as meaning.

We then spent time sharing the Gospel with those who hadn't heard or been shared with yet and hung out waiting for Bible Study to start at 4:00pm. Pastor Sabino, who has been walking with Christ for over 20 years led today. Many people gathered around and knew the songs we were singing. I was totally amazed and overwhelmed with joy.

We passed out flyers as well for a party at 5:00pm that will take place tomorrow on campus. The people of The Dominican Republic are so friendly and soft-hearted. They are very interested in our being here and appreciate us sharing the Gospel. When we got home, we ate dinner which were sub sandwiches and chips. You'll have to personally ask Parker about what he was called by a new friend named Frank. It was hilarious!

After supper, we went to play volleyball at Guibia which is the name of the court. We couldn't play because we didn't have a ball so we stayed on the beach and hung out for a while. The next thing we knew, a dance-off took place. A young guy by the name of Chanel, was our beatboxer. Such a sweet time.
