Today is our third day in the Dominican, and our first day on campus doing what could be considered our normal routine, but more on that in a moment. On our arrival we met a few of the brothers who the team connected with last year and who helped us translate when sharing with locals. One great features of Dominican culture is that if you meet one friend you will quickly meet many of that person's friends as well! Please pray for health as a few of us have been sick.

The Mustard Seeds consist of Kristin Johnson, Jocelyn Kleinschmidt, Caleb Davis, and Benjamin Van Walbeek. We just finished our first full day of sharing the gospel on campus. Our group was able to talk to at least 23 people and share the gospel with them. We were also able to spend time inviting people to the English classes and the Bible Study. Tomorrow we will be starting prayer groups. The prayer booth will give those at the university an opportunity to pray with us and will be a good conversation starter.

People can be praying for the ability to communicate through the language barrier and that we would be able to build relationships with the people we meet. A few people that you could be praying for are Emmanuel, Felix, Dalton, Raul, Fabio, Hector, Katty, Evans, Jose x 2, Bolivar, Yody, and Alberto. These are some of the people that we were able to share the gospel with today and yesterday. We were also able to meet up with Joanna that we saw last year. She has been growing much in her relationship with the Lord. It was encouraging to see fruit from the past year.

Ben, Kristin, Jocelyn, Caleb

Our group is loving the Dominican Republic! We have been so thankful for God's provision and faithfulness. Even though Sam and I speak very little (basically no) Spanish, our group has been able to share the gospel with many English speakers. God is answering our prayers for soft hearts, new friends, and opportunities to eat meals with people. Lindsay, John, Elena and Tina are putting their Spanish knowledge to the test. They have been able to communicate very well with people who only speak Spanish.

We went to the beach on Saturday when we got here, and we met a sweet Christian vendor who was really encouraged by us and we were encouraged by his faith. We got to share with a 29-year-old man who knew a lot of truth but didn't want to turn away from his sin. We are praying he thinks about our conversation and considers the Lord.

The six of us ventured to the university on Sunday afternoon to tour the campus. We didn't expect to run into any students, but we met a male graduate student and two younger female students. We talked to them for over an hour, and we were all so encouraged and thankful for the conversation. Our group works together very well, we are able to tag team and help each other out. The girls spoke English and were very interested in Christianity. We hope to see all of them again this week! We also had a lot of people come to our first English class, yahoo!

"Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God." 2 Corinthians 5:20

We are meeting so many people who let us talk to them about the Lord. We are urging them to accept Jesus. We are pumped to see what God does the rest of the week!
