Third day in the Dominican

Today is our third day in the Dominican, and our first day on campus doing what could be considered our normal routine, but more on that in a moment. On our arrival we met a few of the brothers who the team connected with last year and who helped us translate when sharing with locals. One great features of Dominican culture is that if you meet one friend you will quickly meet many of that person's friends as well! Please pray for health as a few of us have been sick.

We had a full turnout for English club today, with a steady stream of new people coming to it. Afterward about 25 of them stuck around for Bible study. Please pray for a continued great turnout and by the end of the week that we have many regulars. Our strategy is to get contact information from those who show spiritual interest and pass it off to the next team and to the local churches.

In a discussion we had this afternoon, we emphasized the importance of community in the church, especially for any new believers we see come to Christ this week. Please pray that those who show interest this week would get plugged-in with some of our family from Walnut Creek that will be here next week!
