Update

This week has been incredible so far and we have been able to see the Lord work in so many ways. His provision has been abundant and His hand of protection so evident. We have been given many opportunities to share with hearts the Lord has already softened. The Holy Spirit it is so powerful and continues to break down barriers and doubt in us, as well as in our conversations with the dominicans.

As a group we have really felt the Lord humble us through our expectations. Many of us thought we were coming to the DR to teach the Dominicans but have been taught so much BY the Dominicans!

For many in our group, this is our first trip and we had it in our heads that this trip was all about sharing the gospel, which believe me we have done, but much of our time has been spent growing with the believers. We have felt our vision change slightly and focus more on raising up strong disciples that will be able to effectively carry out the great commission when we return to the states.

During our first day here we saw a real need for community among the believers and since then have been able to connect brand new believers like Emi with those who have been walking closely with the Lord for many years.

Please pray that we can continue to teach the believers here how to teach others to grow in the Lord. Pray specifically for Carlos, Manuela, Yafreisi, Diana, Rosa, Luzdenia, and Ana who are on fire for the Lord that they will stay connected with the young believers we have been able to reach this week.
