Final Wrap-up

Endings are always bittersweet. As we reach the end of our eight days of hard and exhilarating mission work in the Dominican Republic, we spent today reflecting on what God has done in our midst this week. Today started off well with a longer tie-down of sharing stories. We heard about good conversations that individuals had on campus this past week, and we rejoiced with all the seeds that were planted. We also cheered on those who were making plans to further disciple a couple Dominicans who were ready to lay down their lives for God.

In the evening as a final wrap-up, we hosted an Adios Fiesta for all our Dominican friends to join us for one last night together before our teams headed back to the States. Multiple new friends showed up to enjoy some food, lots of fellowship, and also some impromptu singing and wisdom-sharing by Pastor Mike. For our team individually, it was an especially sweet time to reconnect with a couple key Dominicans who had grown close to our hearts in this short week. We used the evening to connect them with the La Vid crew, and also to try to cast the vision one last time on why community is so important to make it in the Christian marathon.

Thanks for all your prayers and for sharing our mission trip with us!
