El Groupo de Tortugas Rapidas

Alexandra, Erica, Jassey, Alison, Japheth, Jon

Praises:

  • For Guibia, the happening hot spot where the cool kids like to get their sand volley-ball on. It has become a worthwhile place to invite people to, meet new faces and pass out tracts.
  • God’s grace is abounding in our English class as we battle through language barriers, building relationships and sharing the Good News.
Japheth has been doing a wonderful job passing out tracts and loving people here that we meet even though he does not speak Spanish. Yesterday he was praying God would give him an opportunity to share the gospel clearly with someone and after our English class he was able to walk through the gospel in depth with a very soft Dominican who spoke English named Idelfonzo. Idelfonzo joined us for dinner and our time at Guibia that night and is planning on doing English classes with us all week!
  • The soft hearts and overall friendliness of the Dominican people.
They love the English classes and Bible studies that we do each day on campus at 2 and 4 pm. We are able to talk with individuals and groups of locals for hours each afternoon. When we share with people on campus almost every person is willing to have a spiritual discussion with us. Yesterday there were about 35 Dominicans who showed up to the Bible study!

Pray with us:
  • We would be faithful as we follow-up with people who got connected with the group last week in encouraging and loving them.
Manuela is a sweet young believer with a soft heart and a directed desire to follow God wholeheartedly “everyday.” She has been very encouraging to get to know and would like to go out sharing and help translate for us on campus.
  • God would supply us with energy and good health for the remainder of the trip.
  • God would make it clear how we can most wisely use the rest of the time here.
There are so many people excited to spend time with us we need God to give us discernment who is genuinely interested in the gospel and following Christ.
