March 21st, 2012 (Sorry for the delay. We had no internet at our apartment the last few days)

Hola Amigos!

Our day was another eventful one! We knew we were going to have a good day when Evelyn decided to make pancakes and bacon for us for breakfast. After that we took a taxi over to the hostel where we spent some time in prayer and sang a few songs to prepare for the day. After that it was off to the University.

We again spent a significant amount of time hanging out in front of the library. This has proven to be a great spot for our group and we have been able to get in many conversations and form relationships with some of the students who spend time there in between class. Our group made it a priority to meet up with a number of people we had met last year or earlier this week so that we could have follow-up conversations and see if these people had taken more time to think about where they were at in their walk with Christ.

Two of the highlights of today were that there were two people who placed their faith in Jesus Christ! This first one was the man named Jorge that Josh, Andrea, and Kari had gotten to talk with yesterday. Josh was able to spend some more time talking with him and he said that he was ready today to place his faith in Christ. Right there they sat down on the grass and he prayed for a good two minutes in Spanish just pouring out his heart to God and expressing his need for a Savior!

Also, Steve (A local Dominican Christian who has translated for our group) and Mike were in a conversation with a man named Joel. This was one of the first times that Steve had ever led the conversation instead of just translating. He was very excited when Joel made the decision to receive Christ as his Lord and Savior! Steve said that this was the first time he had ever seen someone come to know Christ and he wanted to make sure that it was not the last!

Please pray for continued strength and energy for our group over these next few days. Also pray for wisdom on how to best spend our time. Finally, pray for Jorge and Joel that they would fully understand the decision they have made and really commit their whole lives to His service. We have plans to spend more time with them over the next few days so Lord willing we will be able to help them understand some of the basics such as reading the Bible, spending time in prayer, and being in fellowship with other believers.
