Team Equipo Update

Wow. Thank you for your prayers. God is WORKING in this country! Almost everyone we have talked to believes in God, believes in Jesus, believes in the Bible, but thinks that their way to heaven is through good works. When they hear that it is only through Jesus and not through themselves, they desire Jesus. The challenge has been explaining that salvation is more than just saying a prayer - it is an intentional decision to make Jesus Lord in every area of life.

Here are some praises:

-On Monday, we met a Christian named Jeison. He came to English clubs, and yesterday he brought a friend named Camilo. We shared the gospel with his friend, and he prayed to receive Christ. Today, I had the opportunity to encourage Jeison to really build into and disciple his friend in his new relationship with Christ. Both men were able to meet Sabino and Mike today.

-On Tuesday, we met a student named Luis. After sharing the Gospel with him, he became a Christian. He spoke with Mike today at the volleyball courts. He understands the importance of this decision and that truly following Christ will require sacrifice. He is currently counting the costs. Please pray that God assures his heart that it is worth everything to follow him.
-We met a guy named Miguel a couple days ago. After explaining the gospel to him, he prayed to receive Christ and has been coming to English clubs and Bible studies. He has also been able to meet Sabino.

Please pray for these 3 men - that they would be given the strength and grace needed to say no to the world and yes to God. Pray that they would continue to come to the English clubs and Bible studies the following week. Pray that they would get connected with other Christians on campus - specifically Mike and Sabino.

These are just a few people that stand out in my mind - there have been countless conversations that have planted or watered seeds. Someone described an interaction with us as though he had found water in the middle of a dry desert. Praise God that he is using us.

If you supported any member of our team (Cole, Dayna, Lans, Melissa, Kendall, and Megan), please know that your financial contributions have allowed for much fruit in the Dominican Republic. Thank you.

To God be the glory. Dios te bendiga!
