Team Equipo Gozo: Thankful

Hola! Team Equipo Gozo is so thankful!

We have had an awesome couple of days seeing God work in the Dominican Republic! God has been super faithful in providing multiple opportunities to not only share the gospel, but also to encourage & build up the believers here in the Dominican Republic.

On Wednesday, we got to have lunch with some friends (AKA “the cool kids”) that we had met Tuesday. We think they are the cool kids because they are super fashionable, and super pumped about Twitter. They also gave Allison hair barrettes as gifts! Please be praying for them, as they have heard the gospel multiple times. One specific story is that one of the girls, named Nemesis, at first seemed cold to the gospel, but the next day heard the gospel from Laura and admitted that she had had a bad attitude the day before, but seemed more receptive to the gospel on Wednesday, so praise the Lord! However, this is only one of many stories of God’s faithfulness on Wednesday.

Manuela accepted Christ as her Savior on Monday and has grown so quickly! She is full of the Holy Spirit and it is so encouraging. Today we were able to grab lunch with her in the cafeteria and she shared a lot about what she has been learning. She wants to make sure that her relationship with God will continue to grow and be the most important thing in her life. Manuela talked about the need to pray, read the Bible, and stay connected with other believers in order to foster her relationship with the Lord. She is excited to receive an English Bible, which will be brought to her by the team coming down next week. She is excited to continue to learn and experience the truth that a life following Jesus is ‘worth it’.

Our bible study has been so encouraging! Today, it started raining very hard during our bible study time that we usually have outdoors so we got to move into a classroom. The rain was very loud on the tin roof so Matt and Leslie had to yell over it in order to share Truth. It was so cool to see how the students maintained their interest in what Matt was saying about the Bible. After the bible study, we had a time for worship that was incredible. Josh led a song with his guitar and the Dominican people sang in Spanish while we sang in English. It was such a beautiful picture of how God is a God of all people.

We are very excited for our big party with all of our new friends tomorrow! Please pray for that and for safe travels home tomorrow night. We’re excited to tell you all more stories in person!

We love you!
Matt, Mitch, Allison, Courtney, Leslie, and Stephanie
